I moved to London almost two years ago. This city and specially this neighbourhood have become deeply ingrained in me - I love Primrose Hill.
I believe in the importance of community, however it wasn’t until the Home Stay mandate that I actually began to meet many of my neighbours, which is ironic since this is known as a time of isolation.
The beautiful weather in combination with the lockdown have transformed the façades of the buildings in our neighborhood. People sitting on a chair in front of their door reading a book, or sunbathing while on their windowsill, having a glass of wine while looking outdoors at people passing by. It’s as if the village is coming to life at the same time that the blooming flowers are now popping all around us.
As a photographer, what is happening around me, informs my work. I began to take my daily walks with camera-in-hand. While respecting social distance, I talked to my neighbours - so many people have been open to participate in this project. I thank you for your trust. My hope is that this will help us connect with one another, that we will get to know each other and also that it will foster a collaborative spirit among us that will continue after the quarantine is lifted.
